Bathing Rosellas
by Susan Willemse

Description:

Crimson Rosellas are native to Australia, these two wild birds were bathing in a pool of water under a shrub on a hot summer day, so happy they were that they did not notice us photographing them and this magical moment stayed with us the whole day. How to paint half sub submerged splashing parrots with acrylics and airbrush on canvas was another matter and the only way was to capture light and movement in an impressionistic way. I have shown the inspiration and steps in creating this artwork on my FB page for those interested.
