Description:

Built in the first century A.D. to substitute an earlier wooden bridge, "Stone Bridge" is the oldest Roman monument in Verona. In over two thousand years of history, numerous devastating floods and collapses that followed many reconstructions, have earned Stone bridge the current configuration humpbacked with asymmetric arches, which is very different from the original one from Roman times. An irregular shape that serves to facilitate the flow of current, which in this bight of the Adige is higher waterfront facing the ancient Roman theater. watercolor on paper 62x46cm Italy 2016
