Andrea DiFiore Artist Statement

I call these photo-collages. I take photographs of flowers that I find in the flower market here in my hometown of NYC or I find flowers in their natural habitat on trips, such as to Mexico and Curacao.I then combine the flowers with other imagery to make these pieces.The flowers are a metaphor for all things living and represent how fragile life can be. There is beauty in humans and unquestionably in nature.The flowers are falling, submerging without fuss. The work is poetic, lyrical and passionate.

The national flower of each country is represented in the title of the work.
