Born in Portland, Oregon, I have resided and am a Professor of Painting at Colorado State University since 1991.  In 2018, I retired and am in the process of relocating to Scottsdale, AZ.  My work is inspired by my childhood home and memories. The figures tell personal stories about my childhood through their introspection, innocence, or wisdom and their complexity within the family structures. I received my undergraduate work at Massachusetts College of Art and Graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. I have shown national and internationally, including Gracie Mansion and Jim Kempner in NYC and the Gallery of Vaclav Spala in Prague. I have had four residencies, The Edna St.Vincent Millay Colony and Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s “World Views” program, Scuola Internazionale Di Grafica Venezia and Chalk Hill Residency.
