As a life time student of Astrology and a Batchelor of Arts I am currently inspired to create paintings within the symbology of the zodiac, combining my two favourite subjects. Initially, my work is relevant to my own natal chart as I understand those energies instinctively. I will, however, continue on this subject as it endlessly fascinates me. Not only is there the Exoteric Astrology of the personallity within Western Astrology connoting the feelings and drives of an individual; there is also the Esoteric Astrology of the soul which denotes the energies with which we arrive and the souls purpose. I'm exploring these concepts at this time via painting and illustration as it enables me to discribe and share the understanding I'm gaining. My aim is to complete 12 paintings, connoting the 12 zodiac sun signs; this will be my first milestone! There after the rising signs and their rulers; when my work begins to take shape i feel the viewer, even with a cursury glance at the images, will begin an understanding of the symbology at a deeper level.
