Steve McGuinness is an contemporary landscape painter. he was born in Shropshire and lives and works in St Albans. He studied Fine Art Drawing & Painting (BAFine Art) at Manchester. He has exhibited globally and his work is featured in many private collections. He exhibited extensively in Spain where he lived and worked between 1995 & 2000. He has also worked on a number of commissions including creating new work for a Russian collector for his luxury motor yacht. He has also recently undertaken some original artwork for an online company involved in Health Care provision. He has lectured, run art courses and painting holidays both in this country and abroad . He is a highly respected art educator and is currently Head of Art at St Albans High School for Girls, currently The Sunday Times Independent School of the Year, having previously taught at Manchester Grammar School. His students have exhibited their work at the Saatchi Gallery. Steve paints in a variety of media, including oil, acrylic and watercolour. Studies are often made in situ, and the larger paintings are allowed to develop overtime in the studio. The larger work uses the references made ' en plein air' but respond also to memory and to the contrasting spatial elements of the landscape as he sees and feels it.
