I am a son of North Syria ... a Kurdish man who utilizes colors to convey societal dilemmas ... Kobane is a small city located near the Turkish border ...a city which was stripped and deprived of its soul by ISIS/Daesh. As a result, it endured injuries of severe proportions, resulting in mass migration of families and individuals. This saddened me and inspired me to paint the inward emotions which stirred within upon observing the dark forces of destruction overtaking that once bustling city which teemed with life... This painting is one of a series I've created in an attempt to honor this city with some of my soul and to restore color to its memory.
