This is a two-sided drawing depicting a Tswana male dancer in the front and a self portrait at the back. The drawing is executed on handmade snuff paper using snuff, charcoal and acrylic paint. Both figures are placed against a black background. The drawing speaks about the longing I have to establish a connection with my ancestors as well as trying to understand the meaning of the visions I have. Snuff tobacco is often used by traditional healers when connecting to the spiritual realm. I aim to create a feeling of tension between my own plans for the future and the plans my forefathers have for me. The male figure/dancer depicted is taken from the recurring visions. The self portrait is also taken from the visions.
