Leo Rising —

Two lions nuzzling together expressing affection, respect and acknowledgement. I was compelled to make this painting; inspired by my study of astrology. As I have Leo Rising in my natal chart, I had discovered that Leo when rising is ruled by the sun on both the Exoteric (personality) and the Esoteric (soul) astrology. Initially it was an experiment to see what I could make of it. I found this image evokes the sense of the soul connection to the Earth bound personality I was trying to describe. The image can be read on many levels; however you choose to see it, it resonates with an energy that is warm and uplifting. The rising sign in an astrological natal chart is determined by the time of day you were born and has a fundamental influence over the natal chart. I have plans to make a series of paintings on these subjects.
