I wanted to extend the picture plane to three dimensions by extending the painted image to the side edge of the canvas. the overall resulting image challenges one's perception. I chose a strap imagery to superficially hold the color shapes in place. The strapping performs a formal balance to the aligned color shapes, and acrylic on canvas makes for the strongest presentation to portray this concept.
