Peacock
by Susan Willemse

Description:

Peacocks are not native to Australia but this one photographed in Canberra was not a feral peacock and therefore was not marked for removal- he had his bracelet or ID ring on. Other peacocks in the area are not so lucky. He was painted because he was such an amazing bird to watch, marching straight up to us, he had a sand bath on his back with legs in the air, a sun bath with closed eyes and then was chased off by a crow. Such a magic royal moment he had to be painted. I hope you enjoy him and the amazing colors in his feathers as much as we did.
