Red- rumped Parakeet
by Susan Willemse

Red-rumped Parakeets are grass seed-eating birds found mainly in long grass in groups. The males are green, grey, have bright yellow chests and a single patch of red on their rumps. The females have a more neutral color. This little Parakeet or Parrot is perched on a fence ready to fly off at the slightest indication of danger.
